one of the world’s largest microchip manufacturers Micron is going to open a semiconductor plant in New York

This will be investment of up to $100 billion and plant could bring 50,000 jobs.

Micron manufacture the diminutive chips that power everything from smartphones to computers and automobiles too.

This step comes after Congress passed the $280 billion CHIPS and Science Act, which set aside $52 billion to boost semiconductor industry.

The bill is aimed to boost U.S. competitiveness against China and it's very important.

According to media reports Micron plans to bring its plant to the White Pine Commerce Park in Clay, New York

Micron plans to invest $100 billion over the next 20 years, first investment of $20 billion 

The deal will bring more than 9,000 jobs to Micron and 40,000 other ancillary jobs to the region.
